Adelaide Servers now online!

about 1 month

After a couple months of back & forth Internode now host a Quake Live server in Adelaide.

Our options are now:

Sydney (Hypernia)
Sydney #2 (Premium Gamer)
Perth (Hypernia)
Adelaide (Internode)

This should allow competitions to introduce a "fair latency" rule to the mix & spice things up on the western front.

Latency should be much better than the servers that Hypernia use to run, as Internode has direct routes to Perth. If your ISP routes via Sydney, you should contact your ISP & have them fix their routes.

Thanks to everyone that petitioned, especially Ventz for getting the guys at Internode involved.

Definitely more playable than Perth servers.

Should be good for the dool comps ;D

Feels the same as Sydney servers for me. Barely any ping change. Hopefully more people will play Adelaide servers a lot. I don't want to see them like the Perth ones, unused and gathering dust.

  Yeah, they need to put up some CTF and more duel, they've got plenty of DM and apparently we love Insta because we have 3 servers dedicated to insta and none to CTF. lol.

Yeah, I've gone from 40-60 to 20s, although the lack of CTF has killed my enjoyment level.

Mines gone from 180 > 145, When net changes location again to syd, when i get 130 to sydney servers, i'm hoping to get 90/100 on adelaide servers. CTF servers are most needed tho.

The hypernia servers in Adelaide had better routes for Bigpond Cable (NSW).

For these servers it goes: Bigpond (NSW) -> Bigpond (VIC) -> Bigpond (SA) -> Optus (SA) -> Internode (SA). This is giving a constant 40ms... nothing to complain about I guess, but not as good as the 30ms from the old Hypernia servers in Adelaide.

Also... I guess this now makes QLD the new WA.
